“Blogging against Climate Change”, the joint program of the Regional Office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Libery (FNF) and the Bilbliotheca Alexandina (BA) aimed at raising the awareness about the dangers of the change of the climate among Egyptian citizen journalists came to a happy end with a big party in Cairo. Some seventy participants of the courses from all parts of the country came together on the Imperial Boat on the Nile River to celebrate the successful conclusion of the series.
ON this occasions, the writers of the three best blogs were given cash prizes. A professional committee of judges had made the selection. First prize for the best blog went to Mr. Moustafa Abu Slim from Alexandria. Number Two and Three winners were Mr. Ahmad Hamed from Cairo and Mr. Abdallah Magdy from Alexandria.
“We congratulate the winners and all the participants of the project. For us, you are all winners, said FNF’s Regional Director Dr. Ronald Meinardus who joined the event together with Dr. Salah Soliman of Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
After the talks, presentations and award ceremony, the Egyptian band “Manshakel” put a cultural note to an evening which the participants used for networking, exchange of information and having fun.
FNF and BA will explore possibilities for new cooperations in the educative and training fields for the future, their representatives said.
The Foundation gave away T-Shirts and cups – both with the logo of the project – to all participants during the ceremony. A small number of these attractive prizes are left and will be given to friends and fans on FNF on a first-come-first-serve basis.
